Initially the idea for this site began simply as a way for us to stay in contact with loved ones, while sharing (through photos and stories previously sent via email) the daily ins & outs of our new life here in Italy. Over the course of our first year in Florence, the idea has progressed into the website you have in front of you; a compilation of services and experiences arranged to bridge small gaps between our two cultures and countries.
Who we are…
A European & an American – neither one of us is what one would consider a typical example of our cultures, however we do our best to speak English & Italian
A Florentine & A New Yorker – we’re a combination of rustic Tuscan sensibilities mixed with New York City savvy.
Husband & Wife – we met in NYC while both working at a Tuscan Trattoria called ‘Pepolino’ in Tribeca in 2000, we married less than a year later and have been joyfully wed ever since.
Two Travelers – we have (either separately or together), visited Morocco, Spain, the U.K., France, Kenya, Holland, Portugal, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, the U.S. and Italy… thus far.
Photographers – we share the use of the cameras and in the end share the credit for each photo and image.
Filmmakers – we have varied experience between us, creating a lovely, yet efficient, team.
Storytellers – we’d like to think so, anyway.
